Tales from Star Trek Online - Your Toon's Stories

Post by ThunderJ16 on Sun Aug 02, 2015 2:07 am

In this topic, you can post any number of Role-Playing stories based on your toons.

Here's ideas of what I have in mind. These are examples not guidelines:
- Your toon and his bridge officers on an away mission.
- Your Bridge Officers and/or crew stories about their time aboard your toon's ship.
- A simple Captain's Log.
- Your toon's fight with the Admiralty over some kind of violation and/or Prime Directive dispute.
- What REALLY happened in the Coliseum mission.
- Your toon's involvement in the Iconian War.

Heck I'm basically saying you can write an episode of Star Trek in this thread if you want to go that far haha.

You can either post something and edit the post to increase the size of your story so far as you deem necessary, OR you can post multiple responses over the entire topic. If you do the latter, please mark it appropriately so readers know where to follow. For example, "Away Mission #1" as your story's first post then "Away Mission #2". Or "Episode I", "Episode II", whatever. However you want to do it.

You can write about things that are outside the box too. Like breaking the fourth wall or universe crossovers or something. Though try to keep it related to your toon and/or your toon's bridge officers. Or your ships. That works too.

Mature language is allowed but only if it serves the narrative and/or a character's personality. I don't want a character cursing in every sentence they say or something like that...(I'm sure we all know someone like that in real life >_>)

Good Luck Captains!

Season 1 End Log

Robotic Operating Buddy, Vice Admiral, United Galaxy Defense Command

When I was found by the Federation almost a year ago. I didn't realize my home was gone. 400 years ago a race called the Aparoids invaded our home. Killed our people... Sometimes I wonder if I was saved just for historical purposes, or if I have a purpose. We defeated Dr. Andross when he infiltrated the Dyson sphere, while he is gone there is still much damage that's been done... The war with his Voth forces grew, and the rising threat of the Borg and Iconians only made it worse. I fear the Alliance is at the same risk my home was long ago, but they do seem pretty powerful. Only one question remains... Will I make it through this? ~End Season 1 Log~

(Please read my third post under the topic 'Your Toon's Backstories' before reading this short story.)

In the Utopia Planitia Drydock:

"Admiral," said the Ensign, stunned at what the sensors were telling him. "The USS Fulcrum...it's..."

"I know what has happened, Ensign."

"You...you do? Sir?" The Ensign looked pale.

"There's a reason I chose that name for the ship," said the Admiral. "This ship, for whatever reason, is at the center of a much larger idea. It connects galaxies, universes, space and time...all together. And despite this seemingly self-important idea, in the end, it's just another ship in Starfleet."

"Sir?" The Ensign was completely baffled.

"Inform Starfleet Command that I will be taking command of the USS Fulcrum effective immediately. The other ships in the task force, including the USS LostStorm, will be reassigned to another battlegroup. While it is with great sadness that I abandon my home of several years...that venerable Excelsior-class beauty, the crew knows how to handle itself and both ship and personnel run like a well-oiled machine. I'll be recommending a promotion for the acting captain of the USS LostStorm."

"Commander Leina, sir?"

"Yes," said the Admiral. "Also, inform Command that the Department of Temporal Investigations should send a team over to monitor my situation. Instruct them not to board the USS Fulcrum. I will be transmitting data about issues as they come up, but I want them in close proximity for advisement."

"Yes, sir," said the Ensign, who was still confused but followed the given orders.

Several minutes later, the Admiral stepped onto his new ship via the boarding tube. As he did, there was some kind of...barrier...it seemed to encompass him, like it was accepting him into its family. He knew that his fate was sealed now: tied to the ship, as was the rest of the crew.

The sounds that greeted his ears were ones of chaos: crying, shouting, simple talking, and just...noise of all kinds. He even felt some kind of mental pressure in his mind, like someone was trying to read him. Luckily, he did have some mental discipline training from a Vulcan friend of his so he was able to defend himself from the probe. He needed to do something to stop the chaos. He tapped his combadge.

"Computer," he began. The ship computer beeped in response. "Relay my message across the entire ship. Every inch of the ship." He cleared his throat.

"This is your commanding officer speaking. You're to meet me in the shuttlebay at the back of the ship in thirty minutes. If you're confused about how to get there, which I don't think you should be, you can ask the ship's computer by speaking its name. I will explain EVERYTHING to you. Please calm down and realize that you're not in any trouble. That is all for now. Thank you."

Some of the chaos subsided into a murmur. Which was good, though the Admiral as he headed for the turbolift.

In thirty minutes, the crew of about 500...beings were gathered in the shuttlebay. The Admiral himself was punctual, arriving exactly in time from the turbolift. He had spent the past half hour thinking about how best he needed to break the news to this crew. But now, as he walked over to the portable podium with the silence from the crowd following, he really didn't know what to say. What he was told by The Author was just...impossible. But then again, the Federation dealt with a lot of forces that did impossible things. He stopped at the stand, turning to face his new crew; no, his new family and commitment.

"Welcome," said the Admiral. "To the United Federation of Planets...and your new home, the USS Fulcrum."
