OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE UGDC “BACK TO BASICS” SPACE PVP TOURNAMENT
Version 1
NOTE: Rules can be changed anytime until the event begins

HOW TO ENTER
Just follow the rules below and show up the day of.

TEAMS
Teams will be made at random on the day of the tournament, Balance will be dependent on level, skill, and experience. Due to everyone flying a T1 vessel and Tier 1 tech, equipment balance should not be necessary.

GAME
At this time the game will end when the first team gets 20 kills. This can be raised or lowered depending how many players show up.

SHIPS
In this space pvp tournament, the biggest requirement is a T1 vessel, Lieutenant Rank. These are not hard to get ahold of as they are cheap for dilithium or zen. The following list of vessels is what is allowed in this tournament. Please note dilithium and zen prices vary depending on fleet discounts and other discounts that may affect your prices. Also note, any faction is allowed.

Utility Cruiser (5,000 Dilithium, 23rd century captains only)

Light Science Vessel (500 Zen)

T’Varo Light Warbird T1 (500 Zen)

Cross Faction Ships
Tuffli Class Freighter (Limited Edition Item, can be found in Exchange)
Suliban Cell Ship (Limited Edition Item, possibly on exchange)

STARSHIP WEAPONS
The “Back to Basics” tournament requires equipment is Lieutenant Grade weapons. This means no weapons go passed Mk II. Originally I was going to have Common quality only, but due to weapons being sold at Mk I normally, I will allow up to Rare quality, no higher at Mk II. However you have to get STANDARD WEAPONS! This means going to your faction’s shipyard (Earth Space Dock, New Romulus Command, and Qonos First City Shipyards) and getting weapons from the “equipment requisition” shop. Note, there is no faction locking on weapon types. You can use weapons from the other shops/factions, example a federation wants to use disruptor, a kdf wants to use the basic romulan plasmas, etc. The weapons and upgrades to Mk II are VERY cheap. They can be found on exchange as well. In order to give a basic understanding here is a list below of the allowed weapons:
NOTE: Remember you can upgrade these up to Mk II and no higher than Rare quality!
NOTE: You are not faction limited, you can use any weapon on this list!
NOTE: Standard issue weapons does not include weapons with the  ∞ symbol do not count! If it says “Standard Issue” with that symbol it scales with your level and will go as high as compared to a Mk XII! Only actual standard weapons, Mk I, or Mk II allowed.
NOTE: Any ship that comes with infinity weapons, the weapons are not allowed, even if they are pre-installed.
Federation Weapons
Phaser Beam Array (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)
Dual Phaser Beam Bank (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)
Photon Torpedo Launcher (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)

NOTE: Federation cannon weapons are not in the normal shop, but are allowed

Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)
Phaser Turret (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)

NOTE: The T1 Constitution and Andorian Light Escort T1 comes with infinity weapons, these are not allowed due to their level scaling.

Photon Torpedo Launcher (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)
Photon Mine Launcher (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)

Romulan Weapons

STARSHIP EQUIPMENT
After equipping your ship with basic weapons, now it's time for basic equipment. All factions have the same items in the “Requisition Starship Equipment” tab. Like weapons, there is a Mk II cap and up to Rare quality. All factions have this same starship equipment requisition tab.

Neutrino Deflector Array (Standard Issue, Mk I, or Mk II)

DEVICES/CONSUMABLES
Only standard/common consumables allowed from the “Requisition Consumables” shop.

Shield Battery
Weapons Battery
Engine Battery
Auxiliary Battery

CONSOLES

-Any normal consoles are allowed as long as they are not above Mk II and no higher than Rare quality.

-UNIVERSAL CONSOLES are only allowed if they are from a T1 ship, the following Universal Consoles are allowed:

NOTE: Universals are the only exception where they can be above Rare quality since some are as high as Epic quality.

Federation
Console - Universal - Grappler (T1 NX Escort)
Console - Universal - Resonance Cascade Modulator (Blockade Runner Escort T1)
Console - Universal - Enhanced Plasma Manifold (Light Science Vessel)

Romulan
Console - Universal - Singularity Stabilizer (T’Varo Light Warbird T1)

Klingon
Console - Universal - Enhanced Induction Coils (B’Rotlh Bird of Prey)

SKILLS, SPECIALIZATIONS, AND TRAITS

All of these are allowed to be used, it would be too much and too demanding to require people to remove/reset their trees and traits. Especially since for some it could cost zen. Active Reputation traits however, are not allowed to be used due to their intense damage they could do to a T1 vessel. Using any of these can result in your team being disqualified.

DISTRESS CALLS

Many of us have distress calls that call helpful NPC ships, these are not allowed. Anyone discovered using and calling these in will force their team to be disqualified.
NOTE: This is due to if they are called in, the higher levels may accidentally call in a level 60 squad or ship, which would destroy a T1 vessel in a few shots.

BRIDGE OFFICERS
Most abilities are allowed except for:

-NO Lockbox abilities.
-No abilities passed Lieutenant rank (Impossible anyway to go further since these are T1 ships)
